Summer 2013

     Alright, I'm back.  I took a blog break, so Winter and Spring photos are on my Facebook page.  

     Summer has flown by!  I've not talked to one mom this summer that said their summer was "boring" or "uneventful."  When I asked the question, "How was your summer?"  The main response was, "BUSY!"  Whether you are a mom of 1 or a mom of 10, we all tend to fill our plates full of activities, projects, and "To Do" lists.  My summer was packed and I didn't post much at all, but that is what this blog post is for...to post Summer 2013!

     On a side note, it is odd talking about summer in the past tense when it is still 108 degrees outside, but when the crayons, pencils, and glue stare you in the face as you walk into Target or Walmart, you know summer is over!  Since summer is over (Labor Day is not even here yet,) I have to begin planning out fall photos.  Fall is even more busy than summer, but I love it so.  Break out the sweaters, gloves, scarves, and boots and get ready to gather your family for those infamous Fall Family Fotos!!  I'm getting booked, but there are still spots in October and November available.  September is not a bad month to schedule even though it is still pretty warm.  I can Photoshop the sweat off your face, no worries.

My Delights in 2012

Daniel

Many wonderful events took place in 2012 in the Moore household.  One that stood out among the others was that Daniel's adoption was final!  Here is my favorite image I took of our little boy.

The 2nd amazing event that took place in 2012 was that we were placed with his little brother, Tyler!  His adoption should be final in 2013!  I'll look forward to posting an image of our new little boy once his adoption is final.

Another 2012 highlight was when our family took a road trip to the Grand Canyon.  I witnessed what looked like a young guy proposing to his girlfriend on a very far off ledge overlooking the canyon.  I'm such a hopeless romantic and this just made my trip.  Still not sure who the couple was though.

 

I also tried to savor all the soccer games, dance practices, moments cuddling on the couch, choir performances, meals together, and all the daily tasks with my family.

I'm looking forward to what 2013 holds.

The Dancer

I had so much fun photographing this young lady who loves to dance.  I jump at the opportunity to capture individuals performing their talents.  A photograph is more meaningful when it portrays someone doing something they love.

She effortlessly performed beautiful ballet positions. 

Sharing the Light Some More

I also had the privilege to photograph the O' Rourke Family during our Sharing the Light Photography Workshop.  Thank you O' Rourke family for coming out and putting up with 5 photographers.  We enjoyed your family!!  They celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary a few days after the shoot and have 2 adorable daughters.

It is about time that I posted something new.  1/3 of a year goes by and all I did was blink.  I've been busy with homeschooling, family, home, and photography.  In the midst of my laundry, toys in the hallway, books stacked on my night stand to read, dishes ready to be put away, bills ready to be paid, I sit here at my trusty computer finally posting some photos and working on some wedding photos.  My 5 children are all asleep and my home is dead silent.  I feel truly blessed by it all.

These photos are from a workshop I did with some amazing fellow moms and photographers.  Thank you to our wonderful model, Lindsay Anne. Not only did we learn a lot from each other, but we had fun!  We are in a photography group called, Sharing the Light, and that is just what we want our lives about.

Cheap and Colt

Every once in a while that pet comes along that you didn't ask for, but you are glad it came along.  Well, Cheap is that pet.  Yes, Cheap is a chicken!  Since Cheap was a free pet, she earned her name Cheap Chicken.  I couldn't resist getting some shots of Cheap with his buddy Colt, who was dressed up in his fuzzy blue monster costume.  Cheap was worth more than her price and is missed now that she is gone.

The photos didn't stop here.  I continued to capture some photos of Colt along with his mom and dad.  I love this family and enjoy every photo shoot with them.  I feel privileged to watch Colt grow. 

The Dawsons

 I have enjoyed photographing this wonderful family and their two sons.  They recently moved and I am so thankful they have family in town that will bring them back, and I'll have the opportunity to photograph them more in the future.
