Cheap and Colt

Every once in a while that pet comes along that you didn't ask for, but you are glad it came along.  Well, Cheap is that pet.  Yes, Cheap is a chicken!  Since Cheap was a free pet, she earned her name Cheap Chicken.  I couldn't resist getting some shots of Cheap with his buddy Colt, who was dressed up in his fuzzy blue monster costume.  Cheap was worth more than her price and is missed now that she is gone.

The photos didn't stop here.  I continued to capture some photos of Colt along with his mom and dad.  I love this family and enjoy every photo shoot with them.  I feel privileged to watch Colt grow. 

The Dawsons

 I have enjoyed photographing this wonderful family and their two sons.  They recently moved and I am so thankful they have family in town that will bring them back, and I'll have the opportunity to photograph them more in the future. 

Summer Shots

This summer has been very busy, but completely fun!  I've had the pleasure to photograph some birthday parties, families, babies, and children along with squeezing in a couple family vacations, and best of all, a new addition to our family.  I wanted to post some shots from over the summer.

Life is Good

I love looking at life through eyes of children.  They enjoy it, laugh through it, and are simple about it.

  Then when the day is done, they look so peaceful resting. 

The next day they awake and are ready to do it all over again. 

 And the greatest blessing of all, is we can learn from them!

Brand New

 There is something about a brand new baby that makes everything feel peaceful and good...at least while he is sleeping.  I absolutely loved capturing  images of this new baby boy.  Newborns are my favorite clients to work with.  They take a little more time, but the mood of the shoot is calm, quiet, and patient

Deliciously Sweet!!

I love how big brother was peering through the fence.  We didn't pose this one.  I was focusing on the baby and big brother came out to see what was going on.  Soon they'll be running around and playing together.

8th Grade

These 3 sweet girls are ready to move on and head to high school.  The best part of it all is doing that together.  I had a blast taking photos of these 3 girls with their beach cruisers.  They love riding bikes together when they can, so these images fit them all perfectly.  Congratulations girls and enjoy your next adventure!

Potpourri of Images

Oh my...March came and left.  It was a fun month with a mix of photo shoots.  I took photos of a sweet little preemie, a beautiful girl expecting her first child while her husband is away in Iraq, a group of amazing soon to be Graduates, head shots of a talented woman for her company's website, an adorable baby boy, and I managed to sneak in some shots of my own little girl and bubbly little niece.  Through it all, I've been pondering on "my style."  What is my style as a photographer?  I am a tee shirt and jeans kind of girl.  Yet there are those moments I love to get all dressed up.  I love being simple.  Yet there are times I want to create and set the stage in such a way.  This carries over in my photography.  I love simple precious moments that aren't staged, but caught.  I also love to pick the colors, arrange the subjects, and add elements in a photo that make it creative and fun.  I want my clients to be who they are in their photos and it is also fun to create a unique shot for them.  That is the kind of photographer I am!

The Court at Carmel Kids

I absolutely loved this Barbie Party at Carmel Kids!  Pink and black are the perfect colors.  SugarPalooza puts on amazing parties and creates scrumptious candy buffets that are a perfect treat!  It was so much fun capturing a few images of it all.
